Boutet stamp silversmith

Where to admire weapons signed Boutet, Directeur Artiste, Versailles Many of the weaons signed Boutet are in private collections and only to be admired by a select few. Most museums also only have single or few specimens. The museums listed below does have important Boutet collections, either extraordinary specimens or a wide collection.

In the city of Versailles where Boutet was born and active for much of his life, where his father and 
grandfather worked as gunsmiths, the small Lambinet museum has reduced their Boutet-collection
from a small room and concentrated about ten weapons into just one cupboard with glass door.

The city hasn't named any street or square after him, and there are no statues of the worlds most 
famous gunsmith! Concentrate on Paris if you want to see Boutet-weapons. The city of Versailles
does however have other impressive historic sights to admire, but you will need more than a short
day, so my advice is to stay overnight as it is a city with charm and very french!

CAVEAT! If ordering tickets online for museums, make certain you are ordering directly from the
Museums own official website. Most of the online peddlers are there to skin you!!
